Brian Buczek

Brian Buczek, is the Director of Coaching and U8/9 Girls + Boys, U10 Boys head coach for Vermont United Soccer Academy.  Brian's coaching career started at Johnson State College at the age of 23.  He spent six seasons at JSC qualifying for playoffs all six seasons and reaching the conference finals on two occasions.  During those seasons, Brian was named Mayflower Conference "Coach of the year" twice and led 21 players to all conference selections.

Next, Buczek worked at Middlebury College as the 1st assistant for two seasons.  While at Middlebury; the Panthers went 25-6, recorded 9 shutouts, (team record at the time) coached 14 all NESCAC Academic players and the "Rookie of the year".  

During his time at both College's, Brian was heavily involved in Club Soccer in the State of Vermont.  Brian worked at Nordic Spirit with two U-18 boys teams and U-13 and 14 girls, winning the Snickers State Championships in Vermont all four seasons, and representing Vermont at regionals.  After graduation, 51 of those players went on to play in College.  After Nordic, Brian spent some time at the Far Post soccer club coaching a U-12 boys team, working as a staff coach, concentrating on U-8-U-12 players.

While coaching club soccer, Brian was a staff coach for the Vermont's Olympic Development Program.  For 9 years, Brian was involved with team selection, recruiting and training various age groups and both genders.  Brian also served as the State's Director for one year.

During the Summer, Brian has been a Co-Director of Vermont Soccer School and Director of Soccer at Windridge Sports Camps.  These summers sessions help develop a training style that prepares players to make good decisions under pressure, creates a positive environment for creativity, and focuses on the person as well as the athlete!

After his time at Middlebury, Brian went back to Johnson State to Coach the Men and the Women's team.  As the Women's Coach, his team qualified for playoffs for three seasons, earning the NSCAA award for team GPA and earned the "Sportsmanship Award" from the league.  The Men qualified for playoffs all four years culminating in a PK shootout loss to eventual Conference Champions Castleton, in an away contest, for the semi finals.  Noor Bulle was named Rookie of the year while 34 Men and Women earned All Academic honors and 10 others earned All League honors, during those four seasons.  Brian won over 100 College Soccer games as a head coach.

Next stop, Stowe High School.  Coach Buczek amassed a record of 86-11-4; winning 6 State Championships and earning "Capitol League Coach of the Year" three times, and Vermont "Small School Coach of the Year twice".

As a player, Brian grew up in Upstate New York earning the "Caption" arm band and First team All-League Schoharie County in his Sophomore, Junior and Senior year.  In his Junior and Senior year he earned, First team All-Capitol District League honors and was runner up for "Player of the Year".  At Paul Smith's as a Sophomore, he earned the Caption arm band and Second Team All NYJCSA.  Once graduated, Brian went on to play at Johnson State College where he finished his last season as a Mayflower Conference selection and was selected Caption for the teams 12 straight league title!
